When I was a missionary, I really got to see faith for the first time. I was out of money (they kept sending my money to another missionary with the same name as mine in a different mission), but my companion didn't want to bicycle if it was raining. However, riding the bus or the train cost money I didn't have.

And it was monsoon season in Japan, so it was a downpour every day. I was very worried about how to get around, and my companion didn't speak much English and didn't understand that I didn't have money for the train (I think she really did understand, she just hated biking in the rain).

So I started praying for the rain to let up when we needed to travel. And it did.

We would be in the apartment doing our morning stuff and the rain would be coming down hard. About 10 minutes before we left the apartment, the rain would let up, so we would bike to our appointment. Then, while we taught, the rain would come down heavily again, and about 10 minutes before we had to leave, it would stop.

This kept up for about two weeks until the bank got my finances figured out.
